It needs repainting but we’d rather sell it, as is, at a slightly lower price than spend the money and time repainting it ourselves. I feel it will not make a financial difference to the new owner. Am I right?
A: A coat of paint is a great way to revitalise the home with reasonably minimal investment, especially if you can do the job yourself. By sprucing your property up before listing it, you are giving yourself the best chance of setting your home apart, attracting a buyer and achieving your price. Paint can drastically transform a space and can be used in a variety of applications on walls, doors, cabinets, fixtures and even tiles. When selecting a colour palette, stick to neutral, muted tones for the most universal appeal. – Adrian Goslett, chief executive of Re/Max of Southern Africa
