Located within a protected nature reserve teeming with bird life, the 220 hectare Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate is a working wine and olive farm, and from the 124 plots released, 70 are still for sale.

Thirty-two homes within the luxury residential vineyard estate – which has strict but workable architectural controls to protect buyers’ investments – have been built.
According to Seeff agents, it is a “unique find” in the area, and has 65ha of vineyards, 10ha of olive groves, and produces award-winning wines.

“Residents enjoy fabulous panoramic water views, and views of the surrounding countryside, the Palmiet and Kogelberg mountains, and the vineyards and olive groves on the estate,” says agent Dinita Hewett.

“As you come down from the Elgin Valley and wind your way towards Hermanus, you will find the estate on the right, nestled on the banks of the Bot River Lagoon.”

As a working wine farm, the estate has a large commercial wine cellar with a tasting room, a restaurant (Moody Lagoon Restaurant), a deli and curio shop, and facilities such as adventure golf for children. There is also water access with a jetty and slipway, boating garages, a clubhouse and storage.

Activities include boating, water-skiing, kite-surfing, kayaking and open-water swimming. There is also a swimming pool, tennis court, basketball and boule courts and an 11km walking/cycling track exclusively for residents’ use. Property owners enjoy an annual allocation of estate wines.
