The gun belt and holster Wayne wore in the 1970 movie Chisum fetched more than $77 000 on auction.

When it comes to Hollywood memorabilia, collectors of items associated with the western movie legend, John Wayne, stampede in from all over the world whenever these are catalogued.

For example, the gun belt and holster Wayne wore in the 1970 movie Chisum fetched more than $77 000 on auction.

A leather vest The Duke wore in the 1966 epic El Dorado sold for the same amount on the same auction a few years ago.

Wayne won his first Academy Award in 1969 for True Grit. He died in 1979.
