Stale souvenir fetched about R26 530
A somewhat stale souvenir wedding cake from Donald and Melania Trump’s wedding 13 years ago recently fetched $2240 (about R26 530) at a Julien’s Auctions sale of assets of icons and idols in Hollywood.
The guests at the wedding in January 2005 were given mini chocolate truffle cakes which had white-rose icing, packaged in a white box with “M D T” monogrammed on top of them.
The original wedding cake cost $50 000.
It could not be eaten because of the amount of wire used to make it stand upright.
