Tina Straw’s places of interest in Strydom Park

1 Cesco’s

Portuguese Pub & Restaurant It’s a nice restaurant. Their beef trinchado is excellent and they also make a fish trinchado. CR Swart Drive and Tungsten Road, Strydom Park. 011 792  7495

2 1920

Portuguese Restaurant It’s pretty cosy. Their service is great and the food is outstanding. It’s a bit pricey and you have to book a table, but it’s well worth the trouble. Ferndale Village, Oxford Street, Ferndale. 011 326  3161

3 Ferndale Bowls Club

I started bowls seven years ago and I’ve been a constant fixture ever since. It’s not a big club but it’s a safe environment, a home away from home. 37 Harley Street, Ferndale, Randburg. 011 789 3029

I live in Bryanbrink and work next door in Ferndale, at the Ferndale Bowls Club, of which
I’m chairperson. I’ve lived in the Randburg area for nearly 20 years, and I’m familiar with
Strydom Park. I go there often to look for things because it’s got everything. I’m renovating my home and buy materials at Chamberlain in Strydom Park. There’s also a German butcher
who’s a favourite, and a selection of great restaurants. – Resident Tina Straw

4 Fratelli

I like their chicken wings with blue cheese dip, their veal is nice and their pizza is very good. Ferndale Village Shopping Centre, Main Avenue and Oxford Road, Ferndale. 011 326 1124

5 Dali Restaurant

For Durban-style curries. Hill Street and Kerk Avenue, Ferndale. 011 071 1780

6 RocoMamas Randburg

For great burgers and ribs. 19 Malibongwe Drive, Randburg. 011 791 5928
