A large family home in Pietermaritzburg will be auctioned on site by Ian Wyles Auctioneers on Saturday at 10am.

Andrew Giddy, property manager at Ian Wyles Auctioneers, says the auction company will call for bids on instruction from attorneys handling the deceased estate property disposal.

“We will first auction the house at 166 Woodhouse Road in Scottsville and immediately thereafter, on a piecemeal basis, the complete contents of the property, including a 2005 Ford Fiesta, 2005 Mazda 3 and 2006 Mercedes-Benz C180k.”

The house comprises three lounges, dining room, kitchen/scullery, patio, guest toilet, three bedrooms (two en-suite), double garage, staff quarters and a swimming pool.

Scottsville is in south-east Pietermaritzburg. It has many of the country’s top schools and the University of KwaZulu-Natal Pietermaritzburg campus. The suburb is bounded by rivers, and has a canal running through it with large sections of green space.

Scottsville buzzes with student activity and has among its attractions and amenities several shopping centres, sports parks, a horseracing track and churches of all denominations, some housed in old Victorian-style buildings. The suburb is only a few minutes’ walk to the Pietermaritzburg city centre.

Bidders will have to pay a refundable deposit of R8000 prior to the start of the auction, with Fica documents as identification. On the fall of the hammer, the auctioneer will need at least a 5% deposit, with the balance to be paid within 30 days from confirmation of the sale.
