Close to the N1 and malls, yet quiet and peaceful along with affordable prices, makes this an ideal location for those wanting to settle in the northern suburbs.

Incorporating the suburbs of Kaapzicht, Sonnedal and De Duin, Panorama not only has magnificent views across to Table Mountain, but a prime location and position close to the N1 and Cape Town. 

It is, therefore, one of the first steps buyers can take into the burgeoning and increasingly soughtafter northern suburbs. The area is just a seven minute drive to Canal Walk and Tyger Valley shopping centres. 

Places of interest and things to do in Panorama

An interesting and little-known fact is apparently the names of Panorama and Plattekloof names were “swapped”, says Pam Golding Properties area principal Pierre Nel. 

“In other words Plattekloof was supposed to be Panorama and vice versa. We’re not sure how this occurred.” Panorama is an amazing location, quiet and suited to quality family living, with plenty of space and good value for money, he says. 

“For most people working in town or at Century City business hubs, Panorama offers easy access, and the surrounding areas combine to create an excellent suburb. We find the area is popular because of its ease of access for commuters via the N1 and it also has sound train/ bus routes and access points. 

“People move in and stay; many upgrading to cater for changing family needs. If people do sell, they tend to purchase again in Panorama, or move up the hill into Plattekloof.” 

A demand for interested buyers moving from the southern suburbs has also been noted.

“Panorama is extremely popular as a permanent residential destination, and show days are always active.” says Nel. 

“We also have an overwhelming number of buyers just looking to get into the market in Panorama, people on the lookout for a fixerupper to make their home.” Residential property in Panorama varies from apartments priced from R750 000 for a small one-bedroom apartment through to R1.3 million, says Nel. 

Most properties are spacious and have four or five bedrooms. Price-wise most houses can range anywhere between R2.5m and R5.8m, depending on size, whether the property is renovated and according to specifications.

The most popular price range for homes is in a band between R2.5m and R3.8m. 

“We recently sold an amazing home for R3.85m in the heart of Panorama. This is a particularly sought-after area with excellent value, especially compared to property available in similar desirable areas.”
