Great Karoo property to be sold as going concern
Bidders will soon have an opportunity to buy a 4037ha, high-quality game and hunting farm, located between Beaufort West and Prince Albert in the Great Karoo, with views of the spectacular Swartberg mountains.
The farm, Antjiesfontein, will be sold by tender as a going concern, together with all game and the movable assets and furniture, according to Willie van Rensburg of BKB Properties, which has been given the mandate to sell the property. There is a large variety of game and also an ample supply of water on the property, he says.
The infrastructure has been developed over the past 10 years and there are both 2.4m and 1.8m-high game fences to protect the property and the wildlife.
The new, modern manor house was built in 2016 and has top quality finishes.
In addition, the farm includes two workers’ cottages, two spacious storerooms, a biltong room, a slaughtering room and a cold room.
Van Rensburg points out that the region in which the property is situated is popular for several reasons.
“While situated in the Great Karoo, it is less than five hours drive from Cape Town,” he says.
“The Western Cape town of Prince Albert, which is situated at the foot of the Swartberg mountains, is small but well-known. It is surrounded by vineyards and fruit and olive farms.
“In my view, the farm offers both a fantastic lifestyle with superb accommodation, and an excellent business opportunity with its abundance of game.”
The property may be viewed by appointment only.
Tender documents are available from BKB Properties, Cecilia Square, 100 Cecilia Street, Paarl. The final date for submitting tenders is September 22 at noon. Tenders will be opened at 12.15pm on the same day.
