Gauteng-based WH Auctioneers has expanded its presence to the Cape.

Gauteng-based WH Auctioneers has expanded its presence to the Cape and will mark the opening of its new branch in Cape Town with a massive commercial vehicle auction, comprising more than 150 lots to be sold on the day.

This is according to auctioneer Martin Dibowitz, who heads the Cape Town branch.

Dibowitz says WH Auctioneers was formed in 2011 to serve mining houses, construction companies, plant rental companies and commercial banks as a niche provider focusing on capital asset auctions and valuations.

“As the company has grown, so has its service offering, which now includes asset disposals for large corporates, fleet owners, insolvency practitioners and business rescue practitioners, as well as fixed property sales,” he says.

“The WH Auctioneers team has completed some of the largest disposals and valuations in Africa’s history. Its asset remarketing methods include live auctions, which are still the heartbeat of the organisation, and online auctions, including timed and webcast sales.”

He says turnout at the regular auctions it has held recently has included buyers from all over Africa and Europe, who are able to participate in the auctions via WH’s dedicated webcast auction system in real time.

The auction in Cape Town will be held at 10.30am on October 12 at Unit 5b, Phumulela Park, Montague Drive, Montague Gardens.

The auction will include a selection of late-model Mercedes-Benz Actross 6×4 truck tractors, Volvo 6×4 truck tractors, Crane trucks and Rigid dropside trucks, and several Tautliner and Volume Body Interlink and Tri-axle trailers, Dibowitz says.

“There will also be earthmoving and construction equipment, including excavators, digger loaders, rollers, tele-handlers, skid-steer loaders and front-end loaders, and lighting towers.”

On the smaller transport side, about 45 Chevrolet, Isuzu, Tata and Toyota bakkies will go under the hammer, as will a few late-model executive cars and SUVs, he says.

“Rounding off the auction will be an array of forklifts, small tools including screeds, breakers, generators, tool boxes, pressure washers and various other items.”
