Architectural and designed apartments offer a good investment?
Just one month after having taken the helm, the Serengeti Estates’ development team is launching The Whistling Thorns apartments.
Chris Bentley, a consultant at the development says: “When we came on board we promised products to improve the estate’s offering, bringing a higher return on investment. The Whistling Thorns apartments fulfil this promise.”
Located on the second fairway of The Whistling Thorn, Serengeti’s nine-hole golf course, there will be 188 apartments with architecture and design by dhk Architects.
Aram Lello, associate director at dhk Architects, points to three options for purchasers:
Slightly larger three-bedroom units of 139m², facing the golf course.
North-facing building offering two and three-bedroom apartments measuring up to 120m².
And a third slightly larger block, with 12 apartments spread over two floors.
The site selected measures 5ha and the layout has been carefully considered, including plenty of green space.
“This has enormous visual appeal. It creates an atmosphere and environment promoting serenity and tranquillity residents expect from a lifestyle estate; moreover, it ensures privacy,” says Lello.
Prices for the apartments start at R1.59 million.

“It provides an added option in terms of types of homes available, and is ideal for singles and professionals desiring a lock-up-and-go lifestyle, as well as for young families.” Construction begins this month with the first units ready for occupation in the last quarter of next year.

Serengeti residents can look forward to the same type of improvements, as developers will upgrade infrastructure and create new amenities. They will also turn their attention to the golf course, which will offer a new level of care and maintenance.
“Our goal is to ensure property owners and golf members at Serengeti are able to realise the returns they were promised when they first invested here,” says Hart.
