Estate agencies must provide relevant, remotely accessible training that takes cognisance of the changes in the industry, believes Bryan Biehler, managing director and co-owner of Huizemark.
“Agents will need to upskill and be prudent with how they evaluate the properties they’re trying to sell,” he says.
Mature agents must become digitally savvy in order to offer their clients the kind of service they have come to expect, while the industry as a whole will have to get used to learning new skills on an ongoing basis or face becoming redundant.
Biehler adds that the manner in which agents deal with lockdown and the knock-on effects could define their future success.
