"Residents can let all stress go while they watch swells roll across the bay and break onto the pristine white sands of Yzerfontein beach.”
Two “top-end” family homes in Yzerfontein will be auctioned by Rawson Auctions Western Cape in Rondebosch, at noon on May 30.
“Yzerfontein is a quaint little village on the West Coast, 90km from Cape Town,” says Tanya Jovanovski, franchisee of Rawson Auctions Western Cape.
“It is a well-known fishing harbour where snoek are plentiful and easy to catch. Residents can let all stress go while they watch swells roll across the bay and break onto the pristine white sands of Yzerfontein beach.”
The first property on offer, at 23 Pienaar Street, is a two-storey, well-maintained house that was designed with family, entertainment and a relaxed lifestyle in mind, she says.
The downstairs comprises a spacious entrance hall that leads into the open-plan living areas; an open-plan kitchen with a separate scullery/laundry room; a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom; a separate guest cloakroom; and a fitted cupboard with open shelves for wine storage.
The main bedroom, with en-suite bathroom, is upstairs, as are two other bedrooms; another bathroom; and a large family room that leads onto a balcony. The home has ample built-in cupboards, a fireplace and two geysers.
“The property includes a spa/gym with a Jacuzzi, which leads out to a stunning, well-maintained garden, equipped with computerised irrigation systems.”
The reserve price for the 963m² property is R3.25million.
The second home on auction is at 9 Pikkewyn Crescent. It, too, is a double-storey, spacious, well-maintained family home, in a secure and scenic part of Yzerfontein.
From the entrance hall, a staircase leads upstairs to three bedrooms, two of which have built-in cupboards. The main bedroom has a walk-in closet.
An open-plan lounge with a fireplace, a dining room and a family room with an indoor braai; a kitchen with a separate scullery/laundry room; an office with a bathroom and basin; three more bathrooms: one en suite, a full bathroom and a guest bathroom – are also on this floor.
The ground floor serves as a self-contained flat, consisting of one bedroom, a full bathroom and an open-plan living area and kitchen.
“The flatlet could be used for dual living or rented out. Buyers could rent out the main house as well. In my view, the house and the flat could potentially generate a rental income of about R16000 a month.”
The home, which is equipped with an alarm, burglar bars and security gates, also has three garages with automated doors, extra parking, two large storerooms/workshops, an outdoor braai and a sizeable garden.
The reserve price for the 913m² property isR3m.
