More than 400 lots will go under the hammer
A “massive” furniture and appliance auction will take place at 11am on June 9 at Bidway Auction House’s Woodstock premises, where more than 400 lots will go under the hammer.
Award-winning auctioneer Stef Olivier will auction off the entire contents of an upmarket antique-style furniture store.
On the block will be a variety of wooden cabinets, coffee tables, dining-room tables and buffet cabinets, all with a distinctive style of their own, he says.
“Also available on the day will be a wide selection of wooden kists, armchairs and leather couches.”
A variety of specialised nautical light fittings, lanterns and mirrors will also be sold.
The furniture will complement the appliances on offer from top brands, such as Smeg, Samsung and LG, which will be available in abundance at the same auction, he says.
The auction will feature a variety of Smeg retro fridges in different colours, Smeg mixers and blenders, and more than 50 Smeg kettles.
Offerings from Samsung and LG will include French-door and side-by-side combination fridges, washing machines and dishwashers.
In addition, there will be more than 10 top-quality flat-screen TVs available in various sizes, as well as cellphones, tablets and security cameras.
The auction will be held at 179 Albert Road, Woodstock.
The lots may be viewed at the same address between 9am and 4pm on June 8, and from 9am on June 9 before the auction.
Olivier says the viewing day is important as this allows potential bidders to see and inspect all the items on offer before the auction.
