Exclusive new north coast development offers entry level prices and investment opportunities
WAGTAIL, the latest development launched within the Brettenwood Coastal Estate, will introduce investment and purchasing opportunities for everyone from young families to retirees at prices considered entry level for the KwaZulu-Natal north coast.
Developed by Union3, a company that has already brought a host of upmarket homes to the north coast in the past decade, Wagtail offers the market opportunities to own a free-standing home with sea views from R3.99million; a forest villa from R2.99m or a forest apartment from R1.69m.
At last week’s launch, developer Clifton Smithers said the 28000m² development site will accommodate only 35 homes, and and the gated community will include 11000m² of bush reserve. Wagtail will be the last premium sectional title development allowed on the Brettenwood Estate.
Smithers said in the past five years, the percentage of housing opportunities acquired by non-KZN residents has climbed from one in four to one in three. The local market, considered substantially better value for money than Gauteng or Cape Town, was attracting people from outside the province and internationally.
However, the increasing demand has also pushed up prices, squeezing out the potential for a vast number of new investors to enter the market. Smithers believes Wagtail fills that gap and will allow access to new ownership within the broader Brettenwood estate.
“The vision was to bring value to investors by introducing free-standing homes below R4.5m, and allow younger families into the Brettenwood estate under R3m via the apartment options.
“Bloc Architects achieved those goals by conceiving a super-efficient layout and design and offering a homeownership solution that appeals to everyone,” he says.
Home & Country Property sales director Peter Cameron says investors will not find a free-standing home with sea views at a better price anywhere else on the north coast.
