Candice Johnston’s places of interest in Eco Park

1 Mehak Indian Restaurant

They serve phenomenal, typical Indian cuisine which is also affordable. I like their pizza and steak. You can also choose to either eat in the restaurant or order a takeaway. 270 Witch-Hazel Avenue, Eco Park Estate. 012 661 6185

2 Pizza eVino

Their sangria is amazing. The vibe is very funky and is targeted at a younger market. You can also sit outside and chill. Shop 132, Irene Village Mall, Nellmapius Drive, Centurion. 012 662 0445

3 Doppio Zero

They have different menus for different times of the day, breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are lots of options to choose from. On top of that the service is great. 52, Southdowns Retail Centre, John Vorster Drive and Karee Street, Irene. 012 665 0784

The safety factor is the primary reason I chose to move here – there’s a double security barrier. I work in Randburg and take the N1 to Beyers Naude Drive to get there. I work a lot from home so can avoid the traffic by leaving around 9am. I usually do my essential shopping at Checkers at Eco Boulevard which is about 100m from my door, just across the street. For my general shopping, Centurion Mall and Irene Village Mall are the most convenient. – Resident Candice Johnston Picture: John Makoni

4 Capital Craft

They cannot be beaten for variety. They’ve got a massive range of craft beers. You have the option to order a full beer or tasters. There’s a very nice social vibe too. 1 Logan Ave, Highveld. 012 665 1969

5 Cappuccinos Southdowns

Southdowns Shopping Centre, Corner John Vorster Drive and Karee Road, Irene. 012 665 0878

6 Elephant & Friends

Corner Logan and John Vorster Avenue, Highveld. 012 665 5662
