Income-generating accommodation on offer

The auction of a Cape Agulhas property that comprises a two-bedroomed face-brick house and two separate flatlets, which currently serve as holiday rental accommodation, is an opportunity to make an income-generating investment, says Tanya Jovanovski, franchisee of Rawson Auctions Western Cape.

The property, which will be auctioned in Rondebosch at the end of the month, is situated in a peaceful neighbourhood that lies between the mountain and the sea, and offers sweeping views of the Indian Ocean and beautiful vistas, Jovanovski says.

Located at 8 Shannon Street, the 595m² property generates a comfortable income: the main house brings in a rental of R1300 per night, one flatlet R650 per night, and the second flatlet R850 per night.

In addition to two bedrooms, the main house has two bathrooms, a lounge and a kitchen with built-in cupboards and a separate scullery.

Flatlet one is a large bachelor flat with a small bathroom and kitchenette, and flatlet two consists of a single bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.

The property will go on auction at noon on March 28. The reserve price is R1.75million, but all offers will be reviewed.

No registration fee is required to bid with Rawson Auctions. The buyer will be expected to pay a deposit of 5% of the purchase price, as well as 10% commission plus VAT over and above the purchase price on the seller’s acceptance of the bid. Bidders are required to be registered and must have with them certified copies of their identity documents and proof of residence.
