Interest already shown in Midlands property
In2Assets will auction Zulu Waters Game Reserve – “a unique chunk of Africa” – on site at 11am on April 19.
The 3000hectare fenced estate in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands is situated on the P171 Castle Road, near Estcourt.
Zulu Waters has a variety of revenue-generating attractions including game, farmlands with kikuyu pastures, dams, an abattoir, workshop, storerooms, staff quarters and offices.
There are also boreholes and generators for independent water and power supply.
Other improvements include an award-winning sandstone lodge with a gourmet kitchen, tennis courts and a thatched river camp where visitors can enjoy fishing along 14km of the Bushman’s River that runs through the farm.
There is also a private airstrip, facilities for pigeon clay shooting, hot-air ballooning and guided tours to San rock art.
In2assets managing director Hein Hattingh says: “This auction presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Zulu Waters is a top-end piece of real estate in the Drakensberg, close to Giant’s Castle, Cathkin Peak and Nottingham Road, and without any land claims.
“We’ve already had incredible interest in the property, which will ultimately be knocked down to a select buyer of substantial means.
“The fact that Zulu Waters has a strong community social responsibility programme in place is another positive factor. This property is truly breathtaking with herds of buck and spectacular pristine, verdant vegetation. In2Assets has never sold anything quite as exciting and appealing, and I doubt if we will have an opportunity to do so again.
“We have some very wealthy clients who have expressed an interest, but it is down to the final bid on the day.”
In2Assets was established five years ago and specialises in the sale of retail, commercial and industrial, recreational properties and farms.
The company has held more than 50 auctions and clocked up sales of more than R4billion. It is backed by the national law firm Strauss Daly, and in November 2017 achieved its record month, with sales of more than R200million at a single auction.
