The apartments, once completed, will range in size from entry-level 21m² studios to 75m² two-bedroom units.

Cape Town’s pioneering micro-living development, 1 On Albert in Woodstock, has
broken ground and construction of the 143
apartments is under way.

Ironically, the biggest crane in the Western
Cape has been brought on site to assist developers give birth to what will be the smallest
apartments in the city.
Designed by award-winning architects
Louis Karol and leading hotel-room designer
Grant Gillis, the apartments, once completed,
will range in size from entry level 21m² studios to 75m² two-bedroom units.
Prices range from R985 200 (VAT inclusive) to R2.65 million, with no transfer duty
payable.
However, only 18 of these micro-units
remain for sale. All the apartments will feature top-end finishes such as SMEG appliances, flatscreen smart TVs, smart storage and
uncapped fibre internet.
Buyers have the option of having a parking bay or not.
The development will also feature communal recreational spaces, shops, a food court,
laundromat and heated swimming pool.
The development has proven to be the
answer for first-time buyers looking to get
their feet on the property ladder.
Sales have been consistent, despite being
in a tough market, says Rob Stefanutto, director and head of Dogon Group Developments.
Completion is expected in
December 2020.
