Tip of the week: The need to do house maintenance is hotting up

Handy Mac gets set for summer maintenance around his house.

I said last week I’d begin looking at where to start with your summer
maintenance around the house.

Maybe I should let Mrs Mac write this section as she has already begun
compiling the job lists.
Before getting stuck into specific tasks, you need to decide what you
can handle yourself and if you have the tools to do the job.
In the long
run, it might be easier to call in an expert and get the job done right the
first time rather than having to get them in to fix your mistakes.
Please don’t waste money on tools you’re pretty sure you will use only
once. The first thing to do is to ensure the tools you have are well serviced
and working.
We nearly had a disaster the other day because my fold-up ladder
would not unfold and I needed to get into the roof to check a leak.
Luckily, my plumber friend was just around the corner with his ladder.
I also work on the principle that if my time is worth X it is more profitable
for me to do what I am good at and pay somebody less than X to do
another task.
