Simone shares her borehole experience:
Firstly, thank you so much for all the interesting and handy information you provide for we readers – it is so appreciated. In this day and age, where almost nothing is for free, it is refreshing to get all this info for the cost of a newspaper.
A few weeks ago you referred to testing borehole water for drinking purposes. My husband has been pumping borehole water from a farm (I understand it is a very deep borehole and was cleared for drinking purposes by the poultry farm using the water a while ago). The water is pumped into a tank on the back of a truck and then brought home to be pumped into two water tanks installed in my back yard.
I am impressed by the number of people who are really trying to make a difference. I wish that we could get more of them. I am shocked, however, by the number of people who assume they can use other sources of water without having the water properly tested. Please don’t drink water that has not been tested. There are a few labs doing this work, but a proper test will take weeks rather than days and it does not come cheap.
As I mentioned before, Chris Le Mesurier of H2O, on 0823727528, is one of those trying to make a difference, and he will point you in the right direction for the tests you need.
